Oh yeah, Black Widows too.
Pussies.
I found a scorpion on my leg under the covers in bed twice in the past 3 yrs, and a scorpion in the shower brushed my back as it was crawling on the shower curtain. They were not trying to be intimate with me either.
Last week my friend found one in the convenience store he worked in. When those things move fast they remind me of facehuggers.
Most scorpions arent fatal, they're pretty much like wasps. They hurt like hell, but not for a week. More like a few hours.
I've also had a tarantula wake me up crawling on my leg. We also have copperheads and rattle snakes.
It gets over 100 here in the summers, and below freezing in the winter. And we have these things called tornadoes and super cell thunder storms too.
You know what I hate most? Skunks. They spray my house.

Steve: Agreed on the rockpile thing. That's where you'll find most scorpions. A lot has to do with where you live here, too. When I lived in Ahwatukee (near the office), we had a lot of them. I leave further east now and have only seen one in two years.
dion
found a big black widow outside under a board when I first moved to this house. has been the only one I've ever seen in real life. carried it around on a stick and wanted to keep it as a pet but the family said "NO". so its gone now.

Dion,
...I would imagine location has a lot to do with the scorpion population. Especially since many people spray for them. Our hotel said they spray on a regular basis. We couldn't find anything around the hotel, at all.
CF,
...I have a whole bunch of 'em. When you come to the BBQ, I'll give you one. Just don't tell the wife.

daddy?s going to give you a big, black bird
and if that big, black bird don?t scream
daddy?s going to give you some filthy thing...
We found an old doll that was
Out on the grass,
She had special powers,
We said a black mass...
We sat in a circle,
All holding hands;
The doll bed held together
With old rubber bands...
She?ll rise
She?ll rise
She?ll rise
Alone.
Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;
She?s so pretty, all laid out in white...
Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;
When we need her she'll rise to the light!
We look down at the ground
And into her eyes,
Passed around an old teacup
Filled up with dead flies--
Surprise!
Surprise!
Were brought but not used,
A collection of knives;
We?d remember this moment
For all of our lives...
She?ll rise
She?ll rise
She?ll rise
Alone.
Alone.
Alone.
Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;
She?s so pretty, all laid out in white...
Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;
When we need her she'll rise to the light!
Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;

Lay her down in her gingerbread coffin;
When we need her she'll rise to the light!
...hmmmm, 1 vote for -DA- too, after all that!
